We are an all-volunteer foster home based rescue. We do not have a facility.
If you are contacting us about any of the following subjects, please read more below.
ADOPTION: If you haven’t already, please provide the name of the pet you are interested in, your name and an email or phone number and we will forward to the foster parent. If they don’t get back with you in a few days, please let us know. Many of our foster cats are rotated in and out of the condos at Petsmart Sunset Hills and Petco Fenton. Adoption events are held on Saturdays at Petsmart and Petco. See our Facebook page EVENTS for times. ***Please read our adoption policies here: https://bit.ly/
ADOPTION RETURN: Please provide as much information about the pet(s) as possible. Your first and last name at time of adoption, the pets name at adoption if you remember, their microchip number etc. Also why you need to return. If an issue with the pets health or behavior, please explain. We will get back to you ASAP.
SURRENDERING A PET TO US: We are mainly a cat rescue. We do have a few fosters that can do small to medium dogs and sometimes puppies or easy larger dogs. Unfortunately, we just don’t have fosters for rambunctious large dogs or bully breeds at this time. In order to consider your pet(s) for intake if we have a suitable open foster home, please provide photos of your pet, age, sex, if spayed/neutered, vaccination status, health conditions, bite history, likes other animals, children, people etc. If you can’t find any help, please avoid St. Louis County Animal Control, Humane Society of St. Louis and Crystal City Animal Control. The other animal controls and shelters in the St. Louis, Jefferson and St. Charles counties do a good job of adopting out or sending pets without major health or aggression issues to rescue.
FOUND PETS: If you have found a stray pet, please take it to any local veterinarian to have it scanned for a microchip. Whether or not you can keep it until the owners are found, please post where you found it with a picture and if you take it to a shelter where you took it on https://www.facebook.com/groups/STLMOlostfoundpaws
Strays should go to an animal control or a non-profit shelter near where the animal is found so their owners can easily locate them.
If you are in St. Louis County the best place to take a stray is the Animal Protective Association on Hanley Road. The St. Louis City Animal Control is now run by a non-profit, CARE STL, so animals will be safe there.
In Jefferson County you can take to any of the animal controls except Crystal City. The animal controls in Jefferson County have volunteer networkers that get the animals out alive. Also in Jefferson County is Open Door Animal Sanctuary. In St. Charles County, please take the pet to St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center on Mid Rivers Mall. They do a tremendous job.
