Wow! What an amazing evening we had at the 7th Annual Doggone Trivia Night. Thankfully, the questions I created were well received and loads of people said they had a wonderful time. Thank you to everyone who attended. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and really sets us off on the right foot for kitten and puppy season. We even had a couple celebrating their anniversary:
I’d like to thank our volunteers who helped make this event possible. Sharon O. was key in making the silent auction happen. She contacted the businesses, made baskets along with her friend, and placed information sheets in picture frames. She and Adel worked the Silent Auction. Thank you to everyone who donated items for our auction and thank you to those who entered into the auction. The support makes all the difference!
Thanks to our panel of judges, Barb, Carol, and Helen, for making an encore appearance this year and making some wonderful silent auction items. What cards they are! They’re so fun. The best part: they’re all about the fun, don’t take any lip, and give As for good penmanship (they are all educators after all). They’re already signed on for next year!
Thank you to all of the other volunteers we had to make the trivia night a real success: Allison H., Barb, Chelsea, Daryl, Debbie B., Gary, Glenda, James, Jason, Josh, Kaitlyn, Lesa, Maya, Rachel, Sam, Stacy, Stefani, Vanna, Whitney, and my other half, Chris. Finally, I thank my partner-in-crime, Adel, who is always in the thick of it with anything “rescue.” I really was bowled over by the response of the volunteers this year. We have never had so many before!
Thank you to Robb Young, from Now That’s a DJ, for helping us out each and every year with the sound system and projector. He really helps us look polished! If you’re looking for a DJ or a speaker at your event, Robb does it all. His specialty is leadership and training, but also hosts a mean trivia night (he was our 2015 emcee)!
Thank you to Chris Clark for being our emcee. Chris graciously agreed to do an encore event for us, as he was our 2014 emcee. He has a knack for the arts and entertainment, and feels completely at home on the stage. He kept the attendees happy and many people told me how much they really enjoyed him.
Thank you to those who were not volunteers, but graciously stayed to help clean up! St. Louis is an awesome community full of wonderful people. Really makes me proud to be in the Midwest!
Now that I have kept you waiting this long…
I am so excited to say we raised $8,000. This is the most we have raised at a fundraiser ever and we had fewer attendees this year. How incredible! Thanks to everyone who made this happen. Your support means so much.
